How do the physical body, the rendered scene and the witness fit together?
The three layers are not alternatives; they are simultaneous. A human node is all of them at once, at different levels of description.
The ontological stack. The arrows run both ways: the substrate witnesses what the aperture renders; the aperture slices the worldline; the worldline is embedded in the field. The stack. Each box is contained by the one above at the level of physics; the dashed box is contained by none of them at the level of awareness. The aperture (rust) is where all of this manual's procedures act.
Read downward, the diagram is a physical containment: the universe contains the body, the body runs the aperture, the aperture produces the interface. Read from the bottom, it is a witnessing relation: the substrate hosts the interface, the interface renders the body, the body appears within the universe. Both readings are correct. Confusion arises only when one layer is mistaken for another, most commonly when the interface, which is a rendering, is taken for the substrate, which is the witness.
SummaryYou are the unconditioned substrate, observing a 3D mental simulation, rendered by a 4D biological body, embedded within an infinite, higher-dimensional universe.
